Block of the day:  I'll Help

Quilter: Lori Taylor
Artists: Lori Taylor and Christie Williams

Text by Lori Taylor--
When we decided to do the Garden Party theme, I immediately thought of
how Reese, my 5-year-old Airedale, would want to "help" me in the
garden. I pictured her at the outside faucet with me when I was
filling up the watering can, eagerly waiting to slurp some water
from the can. Then, how she would walk with me to the flower beds to
water the plants.

This was the inspiration for my block for the Garden Party Quilt.  I called the block "Reese: "I'll help!", with Reese holding the watering can, dripping water into the bed of purple flowers.

On March 5, 2012, my Reese was euthanized after the discovery of a massive, inoperable brainstem tumor that gradually left her totally incapacitated.

My block, "Reese: I'll help!", is dedicated to the memory of my
sweet little Airegrrrl who did not live to see her sixth birthday on May 25, 2012, but whose love for life and sweet warm smile live forever in my heart.
