'Dale-O'lantern craft project

Incentive still running until tonight
 Sept 22nd 8PM EDT
see prize and info below
it's a Wooliedale!

Pumpkin Carving
Make your own 'Dale O'Lantern

This craft project is provided by
 Steph MacNeill, a rescue volunteer.

You too can ‘dale up your doorway with this Airedale pumpkin pattern!

First, I got this template from

I put a piece of white paper over top and traced the eyes, noes and tongue but added triangles for ears and a shaggy beard.
***Note: do not make complete triangles for ears,
leave the corner closest to the head incomplete ***

Next I taped the new and improved dog to the pumpkin.  Then using a tooth pick I poked holes along all the edges.

Cut along toothpick holes to reveal your Scairy-dale Terror

Insert a candle or battery light
and enjoy your
Dale O'lantern!

Helping Airedales, it's the right thing to do!

  1. How cool! We're going to try this out! Thank you, Steph!

  2. what a cute and fun project to do! Scairedale pumpkin!

  3. Oh, I like that one! I'm gonna have to get an extra BIG pumpkin for that! Love the wooly Airedale...precious!

  4. Ok so where is the airedale template for us to print out? :-) For those of us too lazy to alter the original ourselves...

The one in the picture will have the wrong perspective because it's lying down.

  5. SuperSMART pumpkin carving technique!! That Wooliedale is SuperADORABLE too. We know Miss Joyce, we are happy she won it!

    Love nibbles,
    Miss Sunshade
