Paddy of North Carolina

Some of you might recall the nursery rhyme “This Old Man”.
 It starts like this:
*
This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb;
With a knick-knack
paddywhack,
Give the dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home….
*
What you might not know is that a ‘paddywhack’ is the tendon from the neck of cows(and some other animals) that is dried and used as a dog treat.

And something else you might not know is that your donation for the 2012 Quilt helps dogs like Paddy.

Meet Paddy

Like so many before him, 11-month-old Paddy found himself surrendered to NCAR by his family because of a toddler in the home. The toddler was there first and so poor Paddy had to go.

At 11 months when he came to us, he already weighed nearly 80 pounds and didn't realize his own strength. He moped around for days when he first came. Not even the other dogs were able to cheer him up. We see this scenario so often.  It's not that the dogs don't like us, it's just that they don't want to be here.  All he knows are his people and the home he had lived in his entire short life.

Thanks to Airedale Rescue, Paddy has a second chance for the life he was intended to live all along.  We were able to find a great home for Paddy where there were no small children to contend with.  His family now is larger than life, just like him.

Helping Airedales, it's the right thing to do.
